16 areas to focus to become your best version
I was lucky enough to attend an event in San Diego organized by Brendon Burchard called Influencers.
I knew Brendon’s work for a few years, and I loved him, so when I saw the event that he was putting together I got excited. Then, I saw the list of speakers he lined up, a bunch of them that I follow regularly, like Tom Bilyeu, Lewis Howes, Rachel Hollis, Trent Shelton… and I made my decision, I told my husband about it and we got our tickets, flights and accommodation ready!
Those were three amazing days full of incredible insights, practical lessons from the experts and incredible personal stories.
During the three days we connected with other likeminded people, we felt part of a great community, a room full of over 2,000 souls, all with the same mindset. The energy in the room was electrifying and Brendon and each of the speakers delivered with excellence and were able to keep our energy up and inspire us to act.
There were may insights and ideas I got from the talks given from each speaker, I took plenty of notes… but there was something I also noticed in all the speakers. One after another I saw the same type of characteristics/values.
I thought about sharing this with you because it might give you an idea of what are the areas to focus on if you want to BECOME your BEST version. I know I will be working on these areas to grow into my best version daily.
So here is what I noticed in all the amazing speakers at the event:
1.Health:
They are all conscious and aware that health should be number one priority because if you are not healthy, you cannot perform. If you don’t have energy, you cannot be your best. If you cannot think clearly, you cannot be excellent at your craft. So, developing routines that keep you healthy is very important. Starting from caring for your body with good nutrition, hydration and movement. Taking care of your mind with meditation and journaling. Using supplements and taking care of your mental health with daily practices.
2.Community:
All of them emphasized the importance of having a group of likeminded peers and friends that support you in your journey and can also challenge you whenever you are falling behind. A group that can give feedback and help you get out of your rut when you cannot see beyond your own biases. Having a group of close friends that can guide you whenever you feel low and not like yourself.
3.Family:
It is important to care for your family, whether they are the reason why you are doing what you doing or not, acknowledging them and helping them with their struggles it’s important, even if they don’t fully get you or what you’re doing.
4.Vision:
They all have a clear understanding of their passions, what they stand for, their values and ideals. The know what they represent and stick with their values and use them to make their decisions on what to focus on, living with integrity and congruency.
5.Dedication:
They all are fully committed and dedicated to their mission, they pour their heart and soul into it, working and doing what is necessary to bring it up, make it successful and spread it to as many people as possible.
6.Service:
They are all committed to being of service, they don’t do their jobs because of the money, the focus first on adding value, and when you give value to others with excellence and care, the money will show up. They are sharing their message with others with the intention of helping. They believe in helping others, helping people to grow so all together can impact even more people in the world.
7.Authenticity:
They are not fake living their lives, they show who they are and share their journey along the way without trying to be cool or follow the latest trends. They stick to their own self-image, they are real.
8.Excellence:
They are all striving for excellence, they care for their business, products. They endeavor to make things with extraordinary care, but also knowing that there is no perfection and always room to improvement. They are not paralyzed with perfectionism.
9.Growth:
They are always looking for ways to improve, learn and grow. They focus on constructive criticism, they are humble to receive feedback, they are eternal students.
10.Failure:
They are not afraid of failure, they go for their ideas and if they fail they reconsider their strategies based on results and try again and again until it works out.
11.Resilience:
They don’t feel stuck, or victims of their circumstances, they always work out a way to move ahead or sideways, if needed. They bounce back after setbacks.
12.Progress:
They know how they are doing daily. They know their metrics, whether for their own health, their business, their social media reach or any other type of data, they know what to measure and track, so they can see if they are making progress or they need to adjust.
13.Time:
They manage their own time and don’t let others interfere with their schedule. They understand that you make time instead of complaining that there is no time. They prioritize each day according to their values and primary objectives and finish each day reviewing their daily accomplishments.
14.Abundance:
They have an abundant mindset, they don't believe that there is not enough for everyone, and so they share their knowledge and are not afraid to be generous with their content. They rather help someone that being afraid of not making money.
15.Action:
They take deliberate action, ideas are great, but action is better. They implement their ideas, they see results and modify their tracks based on the feedback from the results. They continuously act on their ideas, they know that progress is better than perfection, and they know that purpose is found in daily action.
16.Money:
They are not afraid of abundance; they know their value and price their products and services accordingly without any of the existing negative associations with money. They understand that money is a tool, is energy in motion and that creating wealth is the way to help even more people in the world.
So here you go. I know I need to work on some of these ideas and start implementing them into my own world…
Now, tell me, what of these areas do you feel like you need to improve? Do you have any other areas that you think we should be looking at?
Please share your thoughts below, I’d love to hear them!!
