Three lessons you can learn from wildflowers

After I come back from work, one of the things I used to love was going out for a walk with Biru and Sol, my two dogs.  They are both in dog heaven now and I miss them so much … but … I have all the great memories and I keep going for walks…

I love having that time and focusing on nothing but the walk. It’s actually the best time for me to think, and many of my ideas generate during those walks.

What I also love is enjoying nature and all the different animals and flowers that I get to see while I stroll along the bayou/canal.

One of my favorite times of the year for these walks is around April, May. During this time the grassy canal is full of yellows, pink, reds, purples and blues with all the wildflowers blooming around.

During one of the walks, I realized that wildflowers are very good examples to follow if you just stop and look at them.

Wildflowers are BEAUTIFUL, but they are also very delicate and yet they manage to grow among all the weeds year after year. They are RESILIENT. They look simple but they are so INTRICATE in their design, each of them is UNIQUE. They are not pretentious. They just are, and by just being they enhance their surroundings and make everything around them more beautiful.

I know I can definitely learn some lessons from them! How about you?

These are the three lessons you can learn from the wildflowers!

  1. Sometimes you can complicate things so much, always trying too hard, when all you need to do is just BE yourself…Like the wildflowers, you are UNIQUE, and by allowing yourself to be truly you, that’s when you can improve everything around you. When you try to be someone else, you are not fulfilling your purpose.  Your purpose is to be the best version of you that you can be, and you cheat yourself whenever you try being someone you are not.

  2. You can take much more that you give yourself credit for. You are STRONG. You can work hard and you’ll be ok. You can fail and you know you’ll be fine.

  3. You are RESILIENT. You’ll stand up and try again. Like the wildflowers, you’ll grow back among the weeds again and again.

Which of these lessons from the wildflowers resonate more with you? Where are you trying too hard instead of just being? How can you take these lessons and put them to use in your life? Let me know below what are some valuable lessons you learnt from some unexpected teachers…

I love this beautiful quote from Oscar Wilde, “A flower blossoms for its own joy.” Remember, don't work hard to please others, work hard to be your own best!

My hope is that you bloom like the wildflowers and make everything better around you just because YOU are part of it!

xoxo,
